Lovelock didn’t begin as a business plan. It began with the two of us realizing that the way we were living wasn’t working anymore.

Before we opened our doors in downtown Pensacola, we were living in Scottsdale, Arizona. Our life was busy, creative, ambitious, and full. From the outside, a lot of it looked good. But underneath the pace, we were tired. We were disconnected from our bodies, pushing through stress, and treating our health like something we would finally get to when life slowed down.

Then we became parents, and everything got louder.

Our priorities changed. Our marriage changed. Our habits had to change. We couldn’t keep pretending that wellness was something separate from real life. We needed care that could actually fit inside family, work, stress, schedules, and the beautiful chaos of building something better.

So we moved to Pensacola and started building the kind of place we wished we had.

Not just a spa where you disappear for an hour and then get dropped back into the same exhausted rhythm. Not just a fitness studio asking you to push harder when you’re already running on fumes. And not a wellness space that only works if you have unlimited time, childcare, energy, or capacity.

We built Lovelock to be different.

We wanted massage, movement, rest, childcare, and community to live under one roof. We wanted care to feel less like an escape from your life and more like support for the life you are actually living.

When I became a mom, everything changed.

I loved motherhood deeply, but I also felt how easy it was to lose pieces of myself inside of it. My energy changed. My body changed. My rhythms changed. My needs became easier to postpone.

Like so many women, I kept telling myself I would get back to myself later. But later doesn’t come unless you make space for it.

Movement, barre, nutrition, and intentional care became part of how I found my way back into my body. Not perfectly. Not overnight. But consistently enough to remember that I mattered too.

That is a huge part of why Lovelock exists.

Because mothers need care. Women need care. Families need spaces that understand real schedules, real fatigue, real overstimulation, and real life. That’s why childcare was never an afterthought for us. It was part of the vision from the beginning.

Taking care of yourself should not require you to pretend you don’t have a family.

Before Lovelock, my life was music.

I spent years as a full-time musician, performing late nights, traveling, living out of rhythm, and pushing my body harder than I realized at the time. I loved the work, but the lifestyle caught up with me.

My sleep was inconsistent. My body was tense. My nervous system was always on. I had gotten so used to pushing through that I didn’t realize how disconnected I had become.

Bodywork changed that for me.

Not because one massage magically fixed everything, but because it gave me a way back into my body. It helped me understand how much stress, pain, emotion, and exhaustion people carry without even realizing it.

Later, as a massage therapist, I started seeing the same pattern in clients every day.

People would come in exhausted, hurting, overwhelmed, or running on empty. They would feel better after a session, but without consistency, life would take over again.

That’s when it became clear to me: one good appointment can help, but consistent care changes the way you live.

WHY LOVELOCK EXISTS

We opened Lovelock because we needed a new rhythm for our own lives. Then we realized a lot of people needed the same thing.

People need a place where they can move their bodies without pressure. A place where they can rest without guilt. A place where therapeutic touch, skilled care, and real support are easy to return to.

They need a place where childcare is not treated like a luxury, but recognized as the thing that often makes care possible in the first place.

They need a place where they can stop pretending they’re fine when their body has been telling the truth for months.

Lovelock is family-owned because family is part of the story. It was built by our hands, shaped by our own healing, and created for people who are tired of starting over.
